However, consequences can play a key role in teaching appropriate behaviors and promoting social-emotional growth, especially when used thoughtfully. When you approach consequences as an opportunity for learning, it can help students not only understand the impact of their actions but also develop important emotional skills like empathy, self-regulation, and responsibility.
