Opening Keynote: CH-CH-CH-CHANGES (202?)- Deeper Learning, Generative AI and the Road Ahead LIMITED
Wednesday May 28, 2025 8:15am - 9:30am CDT
David Bowie offered a timeless warning to all educators. When speaking about our students, and the inevitability of change, he suggests they may ‘be immune to your consultations...they’re quite aware what they’re going through’.  Education gets a little more complicated with each passing year, and educators need to continually adjust to remain relevant. With the aftershocks of a global pandemic reverberating, overnight generative artificial intelligence (or GenAI), most notably Chat GPT, has dominated the headlines and many of our educational conversations. How are educators and schools supposed to adjust to the reality that computer platforms and robots can perform tasks typically reserved for intelligent beings – us! How might we need to adjust our purpose for learning? Could AI help teachers engineer environments rich with inquiry? What are ways we might redesign assessments considering new technologies? Perhaps we need to rewind a little through history to look for clues as to how to manage change and adapt to new technologies, all the while striving to deliver what students and communities need (and want). With a clear sense of who we are, the service we provide, and the quest to model adaptability, perhaps we can heed Bowie's warning and look at technology and change with a little less trepidation and a lot more confidence.

Assessments with Purpose LIMITED
Wednesday May 28, 2025 10:00am - 11:30am CDT
Our quarterly benchmark assessments and district reading common formative assessments are more than data collection tools—they’re anchors in our instructional decision-making. In this session, we’ll revisit the goals, structure, and instructional alignment of these assessments, ensuring they remain tightly connected to student learning and teacher clarity. This is also a dedicated space for educators to offer feedback, ask questions, and suggest refinements as we continue to evolve a system that supports responsive instruction, equity, and actionable insight. Your voice matters in shaping assessments that serve students and support classroom practice.

CW-Fit Successes: A Teacher's Perspective LIMITED
Wednesday May 28, 2025 10:00am - 11:30am CDT
Are you using table points? Have you wondered about group contingencies that work and that are researched based? If yes, come learn about CW-Fit from teachers who have implemented it in their classroom. CW-Fit is based on the following behavioral principles: (1) classroom behaviors can be taught; (2) ignoring inappropriate behavior decreases inappropriate behavior; and (3)  group contingencies with reinforcement, through class teams and points, will improve student performance. This discussion will share what CW-Fit is, how it works, teacher perspective on success and challenges, and student perspective on success and challenges. Participants will leave with materials and how to get PBIS coach support on classroom implementation.

AI Specifically for Teachers- A Deep Dive Into Magic School LIMITED
Wednesday May 28, 2025 12:30pm - 2:00pm CDT
As generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) expands throughout all sectors of society, teachers have numerous apps and platforms specifically geared for them. One of the most notable is 'Magic School', and it offers an incredible array of support for teachers. Perhaps the most useful element of Magic School is that it is scaffolded for teachers, with easy to use prompt boxes that eliminate the need to write effective prompts from scratch. By completing a few fields, teachers can obtain customized rubrics, unit plans, text leveling, Math word problems, YouTube video questions, and much, much more. Recently the makers of Magic School have introduced 'Magic Student' - a teacher monitored portal where some tools can be added to a 'classroom' and students can access AI tools in a controlled environment. Join this session to get an in-depth look at Magic School, where participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, iPad or similar as time may be provided to explore and share.

Where there is a flame; there will be burn. Foundational studies reveal that burnout is almost inevitable for educators, and current research reveals a greater threat than ever. If you know you were meant for your current educational role but question your career choices, you are not alone. Through resilience research, there is hope, and each of us can make intentional decisions in our lives to increase our abilities to lead through adversity and navigate our professional challenges. Our world is filled with buzzwords and quick fixes that flame out and leave us feeling like failures when we get caught up in patterns. We need to learn what works for us as individuals and harness the internal energy to keep us bouncing back and even beyond our comfort zones through inevitable life challenges as well as professional adversity. Let's go beyond buzzwords and gain a richer understanding of burnout, resilience, and a pathway to greater wellness in this session together!

Throwing the Laptops in the Lake*- Making Learning Visible Through Lego, Play-Doh, and Other Avenues of Authentic Human Interaction LIMITED
Wednesday May 28, 2025 2:30pm - 4:00pm CDT
* We’ll remove the laptops immediately to protect the ecosystem
According to the most recent research, globally the average person spends around 7 hours per day looking at a screen. For Gen Z (ages 11-25) tack on an extra two hours, and if current trends continue, they'll soon surpass 10 hours a day! If screen time was an issue before COVID, it was exacerbated by the pandemic through remote learning, Zoom sessions, and other ways we were forced to connect digitally. While it’s clear that technology plays an integral role in learning, perhaps it’s worth exploring ways to periodically ‘switch off’ the screens and explore other avenues. In this session, we’ll explore a variety of ways to introduce face-to-face conversations, movement, and the outdoors. We will also dust off 'old school’ stuff like Lego, Play-Doh, and action figures and examine how we can purposefully incorporate these engaging elements into our instruction and assessment routines.

Casting Light, Reading Shadows: Using Assessment to Illuminate Learning and Guide Instruction LIMITED
Thursday May 29, 2025 8:00am - 9:30am CDT
What if assessments weren’t just checkpoints—but launchpads for deeper insight and responsive instruction? In this session, we’ll explore how a well-designed, comprehensive assessment footprint equips teachers to act as scientists of their learners—gathering meaningful evidence, identifying patterns, and responding to student needs with precision, individuality, and clarity. Discover how layering formative, interim, and summative data can unlock instructional agility, support targeted interventions, and ensure every student’s growth path is both visible and actionable. Together, we’ll reimagine assessment not as an endpoint, but as the foundation of impactful teaching.

Overcoming the Enemies of Efficacy LIMITED
Thursday May 29, 2025 8:00am - 9:30am CDT
What are enemies that prevent efficacy from developing and how can teams prevent the enemies from derailing their improvement work? Collective teacher efficacy is a significant belief system that impacts student outcomes. To ensure that collective efficacy remains strong in schools, it’s important to understand what influences a team’s beliefs about what they can accomplish. Success Criteria
Participants will be able to:
Describe the relationship between collective teacher efficacy and people’s receptiveness to change.
Identify things that hinder the development of collective teacher efficacy.
Describe strategies for overcoming the enemies of efficacy.
